THE PROJECT
The Cantantibus Organis project aims at designing and constructing new positive ark-shaped organs offering a wide range of possibilities
DESIGN
Based on a modular design, it allows to perfectly combine the advantages of standardization alongside the customization of each instrument
CONSTRUCTION
The construction of these instruments conforms to historicist criteria without compromising the advances and versatility required by current groups of early music

ACCESSIBILITY
Designed in detail to produce instruments of the finest quality, of easy transportation and with a fully accessible pipeline to facilitate an efficient tuning and maintenance

FOLDING KEYBOARD
The keyboard is foldable, and it can be shifted lengthwise to transpose the tone. It is kept inside its own lid when the organ is closed for transportation

Diversity of stop lists within the same format. Variable range between 3 and 5 chromatic ranges aimed at achieving the maximum performance of bass accompaniment

ABOUT US
J. SERGIO DEL CAMPO OLASO

Qualified as a technical drafter, J. Sergio del Campo Olaso started his training as organ builder in 1992 with Federico Acitores. In January 2000 he was commissioned to establish the Diocesan Workshop of the Diocese of Calahorra and La Calzada-Logroño, where he was in charge of the restoration of the organs of Arnedillo, Ezcaray, Lumbreras and Haro. In January 2004 Sergio moved to England to work for Martin Goetze and Dominic Gwynn at Welbeck Estate, where he participated in the restoration of various organs, such as of the monastery of Santa Clara in Santiago de Compostela (Spain), St. Francis of Pistoia (Italy), Baptist Church of Ponsonby (New Zealand), St. Botolph's Church of Aldgate in London (UK), and the Dutch Positive organ built around 1775 ascribed to Hendrik Anthonie Meyer, and owned by antiquarian Alan Rubin of Amsterdam (Holland).
After his return from England in September 2006, Sergio established himself as an organ builder and he has worked associated with Alejandro Turanzas in the restoration of numerous organs, among which, just to mention a few, were the organs of the churches of San Martín de Andoain, San Torcuato de Abadiño, Sta. María de Uribarri de Durango, Ntra. Sra. de la Asunción de Pamplona, Santa Maria de Amorebieta and San Bartolomé de Bidania, San Lesmes de Burgos or of the Gothic Chappel of Deusto University. In 2009 he collaborated with the French organ builder Denis Lacorre in the restoration of the organ of Stoltz-Frères of the church of Santa María de Tolosa, and which is considered to be one of the most important romantic organs in Spain.
At present Sergio is also focused on the development of the Cantantibus Organis project, which consists on the construction of positive organs under a modular design that allows to combine the advantages of standardization and customization of the instrument, depending on the different needs and demands of clients.
COLABORATORS

Itziar Larrinaga
Consulting and Projects
Itziar Larrinaga Cuadra holds a PhD in History and Music Science from the University of Oviedo (thesis awarded with the 2009 UPV / EHU-Orfeón Donostiarra Prize and the 2010 Extraordinary Doctorate Award). Itziar is a Professor and Coordinator of research and innovation at Musikene Higher School of Music of the Basque Country and profesor on the doctoral program "Research in contemporary art" of the UPV-EHU (University of the Basque Country). In the past, she was president of the music section of the Basque Studies Society and director of Musiker magazine, from where she promoted and carried out reports, researches and actions for the awareness, conservation and promotion of the heritage of pipe organs as well as the organ building craft in the Basque Country and Navarre. Itziar actively contributes with different Basque institutions, such as Eresbil-Basque Archive of Music, on the investigation and divulgation of the Basque musical heritage to society. She also collaborates with organ builder J. Sergio del Campo, in consultancy, logistics and research and transfer projects.

Verners Kalacis
Organ Builder
Verners Kalacis started in the organ building field in 1996 with Latvian organ builder Janis Kalnins, with whom he actively worked in the restoration of keyboards, organ cases and wooden pipes. During this time, he participated, among others, in the restoration of the organ of Ugale Evangelic Lutheran Church (Latvia), and the construction of several positive organs of neo-baroque style. In 2001 he moved to England to work for Martin Goetze and Dominic Gwynn. Whilst his time in the UK, he participated in the restoration of historical organs such as the organs of the church of St. James of Berdmonsey (London) and the monastery of Santa Clara in Santiago de Compostela (Spain). In this same context, he also collaborated in the construction of two renaissance positive organs within the Early English Organ Project. In 2005 he returned to Latvia to establish his own workshop. Since then he has worked for various organ builders, namely, Janis Kalnins, Goetze & Gwynn, Gerhard Grenzing and J. Sergio del Campo Olaso. An accomplished woodcrafter, he is currently focused on the design and construction of modern and innovative design furniture.

Santiago Muñoz
Organ Builder
Santiago Muñoz Barbosa holds a Diploma in Design and Innovation from the Open University of London. He studied organ at Manuel Castillo Music School in Sevilla, where he was introduced to organ building by José Romero García de la Vega, responsible for the maintenance of the organ of this music school. Since 1997 he has worked as an organ builder at Mander Organs company in London. Here he has collaborated in numerous restoration and organ construction works, as well as on the conditioning and tuning of historic organs, most of them of mechanical action. Some of these works include the organ of the Royal Albert Hall in London and many other significant restoration and construction works of secrets, pipes, bellows, pneumatic components, etc. such as the organ at Castle Ashby House. In Spain he has also worked on the restauration of pipes, among others, for the organ of the Cathedral of Jerez de la Frontera. Santiago collaborates with J. Sergio del Campo Olaso in the restoration and refurbishment of historic organs.

Federico de Madrazo
Violin Maker
Born in Bilbao, Federico de Madrazo started playing the violin at the age of seven. He studied at Juan Crisóstomo Arriaga Music School in Bilbao and finished his studies at Musikene (Higher School of Music of the Basque Country) in San Sebastián. Granted with a scholarship by the Provincial Council of Biscay, he collaborated with the Orchestra of Euskadi, the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra and the Baroque Orchestra of the University of Salamanca. He has played at festivals such as Musika-Música in Bilbao, the Fortnight Musical of San Sebastian and the Bernaola Festival in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Between 2011 and 2015 he studied at BELE, the Basque School of Violin making in Bilbao. He also attended specialised courses lectured by maestros such as Frédéric Becker, Samuel Sigmuntowitz and Andrea Ortona. In 2015 he participated in the National Congress of Luthiers held by the Spanish Association of Luthiers and bow-Professionals (AELAP) in the framework of the Sarasate Live! where he presented his instruments. That same year he established his workshop in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Since September 2018 he has collaborated with J. Sergio del Campo in various works.
